After what seemed like an excruciating wait, Pinterest has finally released an iPad app that offers an even better pinning experience than the regular version.
If you're an avid pinner, there are a few new tricks to know about using Pinterest on your iPad. [ 5 Tips to Become a Pinterest Pro ]
The biggest difference is Pinterest's in-app browser, which means you can scour the Web for new pins without leaving the app. Open the navigation panel by tapping the three-bar icon in the upper-left corner and select "Browse the Web." Type in a Web address. You'll see a "Pin it" button that you can use to pin the same way you used the Pinterest bookmarklet in your computer's browser. ?
And if you want to know what's creating buzz on Pinterest, you can see the most recent pins from a site. Look for a series of four tiny photos next to the "Pin it" button and tap to reveal them. You can then repin, like and share as usual.
Pinterest ?has also improved the board view in your profile. Instead of a title listing of your boards, which is all you saw with the old iPhone app ? boards now appear in Pinterest's iconic grid layout with photos, similar to the way you see your boards on your computer. And, they look better than they do in the regular version thanks to the addition of a Polaroid-like border.
Like? Facebook's mobile app , Pinterest has moved all of the navigation to a hidden panel that slides out from the left. If you want to see recent activity, such as who has repinned your pins, tap the talk bubble icon at the top. As you browse, viewed pages stack up, so you can swipe to see a previous page.
But don't abandon your desktop Pinterest site just yet. Pinterest for iPad doesn't let you rearrange your boards, set board? cover photos ?or update your profile information. You can change sharing options to Facebook and Twitter, and because of the Pinterest browser, you can clear browser data. Pinterest says it's working on adding editing features.
