The popular and expensive X series of retro-style cameras from Fujifilm is getting two new models, according to images leaked on a Japanese camera site.
Images of the cameras and a new lens showed up in a pair of posts on Digicame-info.com, which has previously published leaked pictures of upcoming devices, such as the Canon EOS-M compact camera.
One is a pocket-sized camera with a traditional extending zoom lens, which may be called either the XP-1 or the XF-1 (the image isn't clear enough to be sure). This would be the smallest and likely least expensive in Fujifilm's mostly high-end X series. Not much is known about its specs, but it has a 4x F/1.8-4.9 zoom, which translates to plenty of light on the wide end but no so much zoomed in.
The other, called the X-E1, appears to fall somewhere between the original X-100 and the highly expensive X-Pro1. It lacks the interesting hybrid viewfinder of those cameras, but has the lens mount of the latter. This should lower the cost and make the device more practical?in some ways, since the optical part of the viewfinder isn't useful?with some lenses.
Both have the attractive faux-leather grip styling and understated design that characterize the X series and signify them as luxury items. No pricing or launch information was leaked along with the cameras, so it may be just a few days or a few months before these cameras hit the street.
